1. Sardar Patel Stadium- Ahmedabad

Sardar Patel Stadium is one of the oldest International cricket stadiums in India. The stadium was established in the year 1983. Also known as Motera Stadium, this stadium is the largest cricket stadium in the world. The stadium has several times gone under renovation. By 2020 it was completely reconstructed and hosted the opening of the Namaste Trump’ meeting of US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 24 February 2020. The ground has also hosted some of the matches during 1987, 1996, and 2011 World Cups. By now, the stadium has hosted 12 Tests, 23 ODIs, and 1 T20Is matches.

2. Eden Gardens- Kolkata

Established in the year 1864, Eden Gardens is one of the famous international cricket stadiums in India. It is a second-largest cricket stadium in India after Sardar Patel Stadium and the third largest cricket in the world. From years, it has been the venue for Test, ODI and T20I matches of the India national cricket team. It also homes venue for the Bengal cricket team and the IPL franchise cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders. The stadium has hosted 15 Cricket World Cup matches in the country. It also hosted the ICC Cricket World Cup in the year 1987.

3. Arun Jaitley Stadium-Delhi

Also known as the Feroz Shah Kotla Ground, Arjun Jaitley Stadium is one of the oldest international cricket stadiums in India. One of the exciting facts associated with the stadium is that the India national cricket team has not been defeated for over 28 years in Test matches and over a decade in ODI matches in the same ground. Some of the extraordinary achievements marked at the ground are-In 1983–84; Sunil Gavaskar scored his 29th century and broke the record of Don Bradman’s long-standing record for the highest number of hundreds in Test cricket. In 2005-06 Sachin Tendulkar made his 35^th century and broke Gavaskar’s record of most centuries.

4. Wankhede Stadium- Mumbai

This iconic cricket stadium is famous across the world. It has hosted many high-profile cricket marches. One of the notable facts about this stadium is that in 2011 India won World Cup Finals by defeating Sri Lanka and made the record of the first time the country to win the World Cup on home soil. Also, it hosted the last match of Sachin Tendulkar’s international career. Another interesting about the stadium is that it hosted the match in which Ravi Shastri hit six sixes in an over.

5. M. A. Chidambaram Stadium- Chennai

M. A. Chidambaram Stadium is the second oldest cricket stadium after Eden Garden. It was established in 1916. The stadium was previously named as Madras Cricket Club Ground and is also known as Chepauk stadium. It hosted it’s first-ever test match in 1934 and the Indian Cricket team’s first victory in 1952 against England.

6. M. Chinnaswamy Stadium-Bengaluru

8. Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium- Mohali, Punjab

The Punjab Cricket Association Inderjit Singh Bindra Stadium was founded in the year 1993 and is famous as Mohali Stadium and PCA Stadium. It is a home stadium to Punjab cricket team and Kings XI Punjab of IPL franchise. By now it has been home to 13 Tests, 25 ODIs and 5 T20Is cricket matches. It is reputed as the 19th Test cricket venue in India. It is the same stadium where Rohit Sharma scored the highest individual score on 13 December 2017 in 2nd ODI against Sri Lanka. Besides regular tournaments, it has also hosted world cup matches in the year 1996-Semi-finals between Australia and West Indies, 2011- Semi-finale between India and Pakistan, and the other two matches. Primarily known as Maharani Usharaje Trust Cricket Ground, Holkar Cricket Stadium got its current name in the year 2010. It is one of the spacious international Stadiums in India with 30,000 spectators. One of the important facts related to this stadium is that the former cricketer Virender Sehwag recorded the third-highest ODI score of 2019. The stadium has also been selected as one of the new Test Venues in the country. In 2016, the stadium hosted finale between India and New Zealand, and it became the second test venue of the country.

10. Barabati Cricket Stadium- Odissa

It is counted amongst the historical international cricket stadiums in India, which was established in 1958. The sports stadium is used for cricket, association football, and hockey. It is a home ground to the Odisha cricket team. It is one of the well-known international cricket stadiums in India. Some of the notable events that took place on this stadium include Kapil Dev’s 300^th test wicket, which begged in the year 1987. Barbati cricket stadium has also hosted two World Cups in 1987 and 1996, respectively. Also, it is the same stadium where Yuvraj Singh made the 14^th ODI century along with the highest run 150.
